Gwent League Race 1

The sun shone in beautiful Pembrey as the cross country season kicked off!

Forget ideas of mud, wind and freezing cold winter temperatures, the first race the Gwent Leagues 2024/25 season was a stunner with mild temperatures, firm ground and a little shimmer of the sea (if you looked hard enough).

The women fielded a slightly smaller team than anticipated but did the club proud, getting the all important points to start the season and putting in some impressive running!Well done Cat on your first cross country! (sorry not to get you in the photo!)

13 ran in the men's race later in the afternoon with 3 newbies taking on the undulating course, (James H, Tom W and Lechy).

James H was first home for the club, Andy was 2nd and Tom third from San Dom with the rest of the runners placing strongly and enjoying the fantastic scenery. It's a great test of your running stamina and we highly recommend club members get the next dates in your diary!

Results and dates on the Gwent league website here.

More pics on the club gallery pages too.

Big up to Ron as always for organising and getting the tent, numbers, pins and people to the start!

Roll on Cardiff and Bristol in November!
