TUESDAY TRAINING NIGHTS

With more track sessions booked for Winter/Spring, we'd love as many members as possible to come along.

If you're not sure if it's for you, consider:

01

You don't need to be fast to join

Everyone benefits from track sessions whatever your pace. You can run as many or as few reps as you like at your own pace.

02

You don't need a plan, just turn up

Session details are posted on spond and explained when you get to track meaning you get a focused and well organised tuesday run.

03

What's the point?

Speedwork is a great way to improve your overall running pace for races or general training. Running faster for shorter periods of time benefits anyone focusing on their first 5k through to marathon from the sub 16min 5k runner through to the 6 hour marathoner.

04

What difference does it make if you come along?

We'd love you to put the track session in your regular training diary.

As a club, we pre-pay to book the whole of the track as a private hire meaning there's no other clubs, groups or individuals either on the centre grass or running around the track to distract you.

By charging £6 per member we can cover the cost but need 23 people to commit to break even and that's why we ask you to pay in advance (there's a prompt on spond) as it helps us predict numbers on the day.

05

Do you need any special kit?

Nope! Whereas some people do like to take to the track in spikes, your trainers are fine. Please remember a water bottle. Also, its as good idea to wear some easy to remove layers as you can get warm quite quickly!

06

And finally...

The track is a well lit, secure space where you can run without worry of tripping over tree stumps, dogs or traffic. It's also a really nice session to get to chat to club runners too so we'd love you to incorporate tuesday speed sessions (especially track!) into your schedule.
