TEAM RELAYS & X-COUNTRY
From the hotly contested Welsh Castles Relay series that stretches from the North to the South over a 2 day epic to the fast yet relaxed short summer relays in Cosmeston, our club calendar is filled with team races.
There's no pressure to take part but many of our members rate these experiences as some of their favourite things about being involved in the club (alongside the social options of post food/drink/cake sampling of course).
Team Events
Being part of San Dom means you can take on some of the most scenic team races throughout the year.
East Wales (June)
Established in 1993 the relay covers over 100 miles of racing split into 13 stages of varying distances, starting and finishing at south east Wales landmarks including Grosmont Castle, Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle. Organised by Fairwater Runners.

Wales wide (June 8th - 9th)
One of the biggest and best social and running events of the year. 20 legs of epic running from Caernarfon to Cardiff in two days. The pace is furious, the overnight stays memorable; well done everyone who ran 2024!

The Gwent League
And finally...
06 The Gwent League
Oct - March
The John H Collins Gwent Cross-Country League is one of the largest leagues in the UK, drawing more than 60 clubs from across South Wales and South West England.
Men generally run one distance of c.9- 10km, women and vet men 65+ cover distances ranging from c.6k - 7km
With 5 races spread over 5 locations during Autumn & Winter, everyone has a favourite course. Cross country is a really social affair with runners of all ages taking part...we'd encourage everyone to give it a go at least once. Pace isn't important but the willingness to get a bit muddy or a bit wet on a Saturday afternoon is essential!
