Round up Phase 1...
In the last fortnight, we’ve had a few members trying out some local races on top of last week’s Porthcawl 10k.
Niall ran the Tintern Trot, hosted by Chepstow Harriers, whilst Neil R, Phil R and Craig ran another of Chepstow’s races, the Rose Inn 4 mile, where Craig got a new PB.
Friday night saw Paul J and Lechy run the summer series 4 miler in Pontcanna Fields organised by Cardiff Running Events.
Parkrun, we had 9 at the alternative Cardiff parkrun course - Rob L, Rob B, Gav, Phil B, Harry T, Ron, Lechy, Owen and newest member Sofia who also got a new PB. Huw donned the pink vest and marshalled.
Meg created a mini trip to Cefn Coed Pwll Du which saw Ian B, Dan L & Joey join in. Perfect practice for Thursday’s handicap cap race in the same forestry.
Jack couldn’t get enough of Cosmeston Lakes so returned there whilst George & Kev went to Llanishen Park and James was at Barry Island. Sue ran at Tremorfa as she returns from a niggle which saw her miss out midweek.
James S ran at Porthcawl whilst Ceri was at Cycle Route 43, Ystalafera. Lucy took a trip to Killerton whilst Andy & Karen were at St Mary’s in Bridport.

2. On Sunday, Phase 2...
Sunday saw a mix of club running and races.
Dave B & Simon C take on the Swansea Ironman 70.3. It was also an opportunity for previous member, Helen, to see Simon & Natalie after her move away for work.
Starting with a one-loop 1.2-mile swim at the Prince of Wales Dock, the bike stage took in the hilly roads west of Swansea before the half marathon on the Swansea Bay.
Congrats to you all, they were some impressive performances!
Sunday long run was a big success today. New members Owen & Sofia came along for the first time as well as Jack E who’s back in Cardiff briefly.
The Rec, Bute Park and views of the Bay were well received!
Should be an interesting week of training too!
