Weekend Round Up - 13th/14th April

It was a parkrun weekend to remember!

Parkrun

Saturday’s parkrun adventures included a double celebration and the usual parkrun tourism at over 14 different locations.

Natalie and Karen timed it well to celebrate their 250th parkrun to run together at Prospect park in Reading with Simon & Andy and a few other friends. As with every parkrun milestone, it included cake! Well done guys!

Others travelling a bit further afield were Sue at Cheltenham, Joey at Ilfield Mill Pond and Johnny at Daventry.

Cardiff had the biggest local turnout with Mark, Ian O, George, Hywel and Simon L in attendance - with Ian running his 101st parkrun after a low key 100 last month.

Rob came second at Coed Cefn-Pwll-Du and Chris M brought it home in 3rd at Tremorfa which also saw Meg P, Ian B, James & Andrew in attendance. In north Cardiff, Matt and Kev went to Llanishen Park.

Emily was second lady at Cwmbran, Niall went to Merthyr, Ceri went to Pontypridd whilst Dan went to Maesteg and enjoyed a smaller crowd.

Newest member Jack ran at Barry and Harry S ran in Colby in west Wales. Phew, hope didn't miss anyone!

2. Sunday Round Up

Sunday was an opportunity for some racing and long running as the sun FINALLY came out!

A few of the club crossed the Severn Bridge to get involved in some races.

Rob B finished 5th at the Devizes Half Marathon which stretched out into the villages nearby over an undulating course.

The Whites ventured east towards Chippenham to run the Lightning Bolt 10k. Rowena made it her first 10k race in a few years and James had a solid race to finish 16th. Both were proud to see their daughter run a great race, pushing comfortably on from the pacer.

Neil R took on the Bigmoose race in Bute Park to complete his April marathon on a looped course alongside a large crowd taking on a mixture of distances.

8 took on the long run with Jack H, Andy & George using it as their last long run before London next weekend. It was also an opportunity for a new runner, James, to come along and see what the club is like after his run at the Brighton Marathon last weekend.
