The Castles Relay 2024 has been and gone in a blink of an eye!
Saturday morning’s briefing was attended by Club Captain, Meg, who later went on to start Stage 1 in Caernarfon. She finished in 35th place for the 9 miles to Penygroes.
Rhys ran a fantastic 10.7 miles onwards to Penygroes to get 14th place.
Ian O had the first mountain stage of the event, finishing 20th into Maentwrog.
Phil R ran to Harlech, finishing a very reasonable 30th despite a recent rib injury.
It started getting hotter as Emily set off for Barmouth, finishing 33rd as James W ran into Dolgellau in 33rd place too.
Neil R took on the second mountain stage of the day into Dinas Mawddwy for 32nd place.
Matt T came 16th on stage 8 to Foel as Susannah came 18th (and third lady) on Stage 9.
The last stage of the day, 10, was another mountain stage which saw Andy finish in Newtown in 15th place before some team drinks were started, tents set up and dinner demolished from all the respective efforts.
A great first day at the Welsh Castles Relay
